On Monday (05/03), PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) PLN, represented by Mr. Ricky Cahya Adrian as Vice President of Development, Cooperation, and Commercialization Corporate Business, along with his team, conducted a Liquid CO2 Study related to Carbon Capture and Storage.

The study was warmly welcomed by Mr. Willy Prakoso, Director of Operations. On this occasion, PT Petro Oxo Nusantara opened the session with a safety induction, followed by a presentation on CO2 capture.

The field survey of the Liquid CO2 plant covered various stages, starting from the Tie-In Flue Gas point to the process of producing Liquid CO2, which is stored in product storage tanks, and the method of product delivery into trucks (loading trucks).

PT PON has been implementing Carbon Capture and emission reduction since 2012. In 2015, PT PON began producing Liquid CO2 through an extraction process that utilizes exhaust gas from the reformer, which is rich in CO2, using Union Engineering technology from Denmark. The Liquid CO2 produced by PT PON meets food-grade quality standards and has obtained FSSC 22000 certification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, Halal certification from MUI, and a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of 97%.

PLN’s objective in conducting this Liquid CO2 Study is to follow the directive of President Joko Widodo to reduce carbon emissions and prevent environmental pollution.
